The Wooden Ships & Iron Men Scenario Packs include new scenarios for the game. Copy these files into your scenario directory, which is usually C:\WSIM\SCENARIO. The new scenarios start at number 100, so there shouldn’t be any danger of them copying over any scenarios you’ve created.
You should then be able to play the scenarios normally.
The scenario packs includes scenarios from several different time periods, including the War of 1812, the early American Revolution, the Napoleonic wars, the battles of Richard Bollitho, and several pirate scenarios.
If you haven’t already, please download the Wooden Ships & Iron Men patch 1.02, which fixes some bugs that have appeared in the last few months, especially for systems with 8 megs of RAM.

Another thing that really makes Wooden Ships & Iron Men Scenario Pack (May Release) enjoyable for me is how it manages to stay interesting even after playing it multiple times.
