Tactcom Serial/Modem Patch
Simply run the attached executeable (Tacpat1.exe) in the EF2000
directory.
This makes the program store the serial ports type and interrupt
setting in the comms.cfg file. thus allowing people who are having
difficulty with the auto detection logic, to manually adjust the settings
It also allows for none-standard serial port configurations, which
are not normally available using the ingame selection
You can use either dos edit.com or the windows notepad to change
the values in comms.cfg, the settings for my 16550 internal modem
on com3 using irq 5 are …

Type 4
Irq 5
Baud 6
the values allowed for Type (which is uart type) are
0 is autodetect
1 is 8250
2 is 16450
3 is 16550
4 is 16550A
note that it needs to be a 16550A before the fifo’s will be enabled
