The game was made for the AGS OROW (one week one room) competition. And for a game made in just one week it has an amazing quality. It has excellent big and well animated graphics, a decent soundtrack and clever puzzles that are far away from “use A on B in place C” scheme.
Of course the game is short (no wonder with the limitation to use just one room), but it feels longer because the puzzles are challenging and it isn’t easy to find a solution at all. In fact it takes longer to solve this game than it takes to solve several other AGS games with more rooms and a bigger story.
“Hallway of Adventures” is meant as a short prequel to a much larger series of games that Wandering Adventures will release. So we can look forward to see a longer sequel in the future.
Another thing that really makes Hallway of Adventures enjoyable for me is how it manages to stay interesting even after playing it multiple times. Many games feel repetitive after a while, but here, the experience still feels fresh because of the small details and different ways you can approach the gameplay. As you continue playing, you naturally start improving and understanding the mechanics better, which makes everything feel more rewarding. I also appreciate the balance the game maintains—it’s not too difficult, but it’s not too easy either. You can play it casually for a short break or spend longer sessions without getting bored. That flexibility is one of the biggest reasons why I keep coming back to Hallway of Adventures. Overall, it’s the kind of game that doesn’t just entertain you for a moment, but actually gives you a consistently enjoyable experience every time you play.
