Dungeons of China: Magic Miner is a classic jump and run game as mentioned
above. The aim is to complete all seven (!!) levels of the shareware version
with three bonus lives. This means you are allowed to “touch” a monster,
laser or other deathbringing pieces three times. But then you are really
singing in the choir of angels, which will be confirmed by a angle flying up
the screen. If you die somewhere in the fourth level, for example, then
you’ll have to start at very beginning of that level again keeping nothing
but the score you had before.
These are the dark sides of Dungeons of China (which you will face very very
often). Now the way to the next levels will be explained:
In each level you have to collect three items (a chest, a potion and a
lantern) and then reach the key (which is the symbol of leaving this and
getting to the next level). An item may only be collected by walking over
it on the platform it is positioned. You can’t get it by jumping up to it
or by other strange means.

Another thing that really makes Dungeons of China – Magic Miner enjoyable for me is how it manages to stay interesting even after playing it multiple times. Many games feel repetitive after a while, but here, the experience still feels fresh because of the small details and different ways you can approach the gameplay. As you continue playing, you naturally start improving and understanding the mechanics better, which makes everything feel more rewarding. I also appreciate the balance the game maintains—it’s not too difficult, but it’s not too easy either. You can play it casually for a short break or spend longer sessions without getting bored. That flexibility is one of the biggest reasons why I keep coming back to Dungeons of China – Magic Miner. Overall, it’s the kind of game that doesn’t just entertain you for a moment, but actually gives you a consistently enjoyable experience every time you play.
