The object of the WAR is to eliminate the opposing army. In VS game, green (1P + 2P) take out the grey army (3P + 4P) and vice versa. In CO-OP games, green (1P+2P+3P+4P) take out the grey army (CPU).
As a player you look the same as all of your troopers. If you get lost, press both buttons to place an arrow over your head. when you die, you will come back to life 10 seconds later as long as you have no-player troopers on your team. Button 1 fires, button 2 shoots granades.
To win a War you can’t concentrate on shooting because you can’t shoot quicky. You NEED to get reinforcements and let them do most of the work. Fire when you need to, use granades wisely, and ALLWAYS get reinforcements.

Another thing that really makes The War enjoyable for me is how it manages to stay interesting even after playing it multiple times. Many games feel repetitive after a while, but here, the experience still feels fresh because of the small details and different ways you can approach the gameplay. As you continue playing, you naturally start improving and understanding the mechanics better, which makes everything feel more rewarding. I also appreciate the balance the game maintains—it’s not too difficult, but it’s not too easy either. You can play it casually for a short break or spend longer sessions without getting bored. That flexibility is one of the biggest reasons why I keep coming back to The War. Overall, it’s the kind of game that doesn’t just entertain you for a moment, but actually gives you a consistently enjoyable experience every time you play.
