Trilby: The Art of Theft PC Free Game Download

It’s always nice to see a new game of Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw as this guy is a true master of atmosphere. In “Trilby: The Art of Theft” you’ll meet once more with Trilby, one of the main caracters of the “John DeFoe” -series. But what is the game about?
“1991. Two years before the events of 5 Days A Stranger. The eccentric British cat burglar Trilby is at large in an American city, robbing the rich to give to himself. Distrustful of his fellow man and patiently skilled in every aspect of burglary, Trilby is on an ongoing quest to scare the ignorant rich by hitting them where it hurts – their wallets. But will his arrogance cause him to bite off more than he can chew?
In The Art Of Theft the player controls Trilby in a 2D stealth adventure as he embarks upon a number of daring high-profile heists in various outposts of wealth and power across Chapow City. With an arsenal of thief skills at his disposal, he must lift the trinkets and valuables of the idle rich while making as little fuss as possible.(description taken from the official homepage)”
“Trilby: The Art of Theft” reminded me very much of other great stealth games like “The Clou!” or “Dark Project” even if the gameplay is completely different (but atmosphere is similar). There are lots of interesting missions and upgrades and I played some of them over and over again by now, just to get a perfect “Trilby” on them (I didn’t succeed with most of them).
Game is not perfect, it takes a while until you’re used to the controls, graphics could be better in some places (but regarding the download size they are still great) and cutting wires on pure luck is a bit annoying, but after all this is an amazing game with a thrilling atmosphere and it proves that you can do a lot more than the normal point’n click adventures with the AGS engine.
You sure shouldn’t miss this one (two of our Game Hunters even regarded it as “a pretender to the Game of the Year”)!

Another thing that really makes Trilby: The Art of Theft enjoyable for me is how it manages to stay interesting even after playing it multiple times. Many games feel repetitive after a while, but here, the experience still feels fresh because of the small details and different ways you can approach the gameplay. As you continue playing, you naturally start improving and understanding the mechanics better, which makes everything feel more rewarding. I also appreciate the balance the game maintains—it’s not too difficult, but it’s not too easy either. You can play it casually for a short break or spend longer sessions without getting bored. That flexibility is one of the biggest reasons why I keep coming back to Trilby: The Art of Theft. Overall, it’s the kind of game that doesn’t just entertain you for a moment, but actually gives you a consistently enjoyable experience every time you play.
