Groops consist of at least 3 pieces whose attributes (colour, shape, and pattern) are either all different or all the same. That is, the colours in a Groop must all be the same or all be different, the shapes in a Groop must all be the same or all be different, and the patterns in a groop must all be the same or all be different. After selecting ‘New Game’ from the main menu, you must then select from three different game modes:
Search Mode
In search mode, you must create Groops by selecting 3 pieces from those already on the board. Pieces will disappear if a Groop is made and will reappear slowly over time. Pieces in a Groop do not have to be adjacent in search mode.
Timed Mode
In timed mode, pieces must be placed as fast as possible in order to make as many Groops as possible in the given time limit. If you fill the board up then it will clear itself, allowing you to continue. Groops can only be made from adjacent pieces. ie. up, down, left, right.
Puzzle Mode
In puzzle mode, pieces must be placed to make as many Groops as possible without filling up the board. If you fill the entire board up then its game over! There is no time limit in this mode, so think carefully about where you place your pieces. Groops can only be made from adjacent pieces. ie. up, down, left, right.

Another thing that really makes Groop Demo enjoyable for me is how it manages to stay interesting even after playing it multiple times. Many games feel repetitive after a while, but here, the experience still feels fresh because of the small details and different ways you can approach the gameplay. As you continue playing, you naturally start improving and understanding the mechanics better, which makes everything feel more rewarding. I also appreciate the balance the game maintains—it’s not too difficult, but it’s not too easy either. You can play it casually for a short break or spend longer sessions without getting bored. That flexibility is one of the biggest reasons why I keep coming back to Groop Demo. Overall, it’s the kind of game that doesn’t just entertain you for a moment, but actually gives you a consistently enjoyable experience every time you play.
