When you press an arrow down, the arrow in front of it rotates 90 degrees either direction. Then the arrow you pressed down resets itself to rotate the next arrow 90 degrees the other direction next time.
If you are using any level higher than 1 the above steps will be repeated for the next arrow in the direction of the last rotating arrows resting point.”
