The object of the game is to find hidden gems. These gems are hidden in the Gem Area. The number of gems you have to find depends on the size of the game screen. You find the gems by making guesses. You make a guess by dragging and dropping what are called Guess Tokens onto the Guess Area. Imagine that each guess token you drop in the guess area is like a flashlight. It emits an invisible beam of light towards the gem area. When the light beam enters the gem area, it has to exit out eventually. It might exit out the same square where you dropped the guess token, or it might exit out to a different square. What determines where the light beam exits? The hidden gems (). Another thing that really makes In The Dark v1.1 enjoyable for me is how it manages to stay interesting even after playing it multiple times.
