Matchup baseball is a baseball simulator / game. It matches up 2 teams
and their statistics and allows for the Matchups that were never possible.
Imagine The Rocket vs. the Homerun King. Players of today can face the
greats from earlier eras. How about the ’27 Yanks vs. the ’96 Yanks or an
entire lineup of Belle vs. a lineup of Bonds.
The outcome is NOT random, rather based on the statistics of the players
matched up. Just pick the teams to Matchup and playball. You control the
speed of simulation or you can use the Lightning feature to complete a
game in just seconds. View the statistics of the game you just completed
and compile them to keep track of a seven-game series, an entire season or
whatever you wish.
Even Edit/Create your own teams, you can enter the stats yourself or select
from previous years just by clicking! Quickly build teams with full stats
from 1994 to 1996 which are included! The Stats are in comma delimited text
format so they are easily imported into spreadsheet programs.
View compiled stats (*.cmp) or the statistics of a matchup baseball
team (*.bb). Bring in a player from the bench or a reliever from the bullpen.
Seasons and best of Series’ available! Even add your own sounds!
FANTASY – View three-year averages and look at hitter and pitcher Sagarin
ratings with Dollar$ values. Even conduct your own draft!
Even though there are an infinite number of factors involved in the outcome
of a baseball game, Matchup baseball gives a close approximation of outcomes
that is quite impressive. However, other factors when comparing different
eras of players should be taken into account, from different rules
to different lifestyles. Enjoy the Matchups!

Another thing that really makes Matchup Baseball v4.0 enjoyable for me is how it manages to stay interesting even after playing it multiple times. Many games feel repetitive after a while, but here, the experience still feels fresh because of the small details and different ways you can approach the gameplay. As you continue playing, you naturally start improving and understanding the mechanics better, which makes everything feel more rewarding. I also appreciate the balance the game maintains—it’s not too difficult, but it’s not too easy either. You can play it casually for a short break or spend longer sessions without getting bored. That flexibility is one of the biggest reasons why I keep coming back to Matchup Baseball v4.0. Overall, it’s the kind of game that doesn’t just entertain you for a moment, but actually gives you a consistently enjoyable experience every time you play.
