New improved! Now faster, and with better graphics! Plus many new options and features!
This is a variation of your basic artillery game. I have tried to make it easy to use, fun to play, fast moving and have several variations. I wrote it to run on an EGA or VGA monitor and doesn’t need too much memory. I suggest using it on a 286 or better machine (If you have only a XT, I have pity for you).
The object is to blow to bits your opponent, whom may be a friend, a relative, or an innocent computer. To reach this goal, you simply use the arrow keys to adjust the speed and angle of your shot. A direct hit will destroy your victim, while a near miss will damage them reducing their status (if they are in the blast area). Use ‘Enter’ to fire your shot after you have adjusted the angle and speed.

Another thing that really makes Roast’em v3.0 enjoyable for me is how it manages to stay interesting even after playing it multiple times. Many games feel repetitive after a while, but here, the experience still feels fresh because of the small details and different ways you can approach the gameplay. As you continue playing, you naturally start improving and understanding the mechanics better, which makes everything feel more rewarding. I also appreciate the balance the game maintains—it’s not too difficult, but it’s not too easy either. You can play it casually for a short break or spend longer sessions without getting bored. That flexibility is one of the biggest reasons why I keep coming back to Roast’em v3.0. Overall, it’s the kind of game that doesn’t just entertain you for a moment, but actually gives you a consistently enjoyable experience every time you play.
