Snarf v2.03 PC Free Game Download

This is an arcade style game for the IBM PC family of compatible computers. It requires an EGA/VGA compatible display adapter (with a minimum of 128K of RAM on the display adapter; early IBM EGA cards will not work). It will NOT work on CGA, MDA, or Hercules display adapters.
This game was originally written in early 1988 and released in the spring of that year as freeware. It was not finished at that time, due to lack of time, but was usable. Snarf release 2.0 has been completely re-written from top to bottom, a welcome/demo screen added, and the game has been made easily extensible by non-programmers. Anyone can add new “levels” to the game. The game is structured to accept up to a maximum of 999 levels. Should be sufficient.
Snarf 2.0 allows the user to create new levels for the game. If you create new levels that you would like to share with other registered users, send them to the author (on 5 1/4 or 3 1/2 disk). If they’re sufficiently different and challenging, they’ll be included on future distributions to registered users. Acceptance of at least three new levels for inclusion on the registered distribution will win the submitter a free update. (This offer is valid ONLY to registered users.) Previously registered users may get an update at any time for $5.

Another thing that really makes Snarf v2.03 enjoyable for me is how it manages to stay interesting even after playing it multiple times. Many games feel repetitive after a while, but here, the experience still feels fresh because of the small details and different ways you can approach the gameplay. As you continue playing, you naturally start improving and understanding the mechanics better, which makes everything feel more rewarding. I also appreciate the balance the game maintains—it’s not too difficult, but it’s not too easy either. You can play it casually for a short break or spend longer sessions without getting bored. That flexibility is one of the biggest reasons why I keep coming back to Snarf v2.03. Overall, it’s the kind of game that doesn’t just entertain you for a moment, but actually gives you a consistently enjoyable experience every time you play.
