Remake of Harrier Attack!
In the original, you piloted an RAF Harrier, with the mission of flying over a hostile (randomly generated) landscape in order to reach your target – the enemy city. Once there you were to bomb it into oblivion. The original game’s incidental release at the time of the Falklands conflict raised a few eyebrows among reviewers!
Although armed with missiles and bombs, your harrier has a limited number of each, and continuous use of either will lead to their exhaustion. Another item that is in limited supply is fuel. You control the speed at which you fly, and unsurprisingly the faster you fly, the faster you suck fuel. It is very possible to run out of fuel before reaching your target, turning your Harrier into a very expensive paperweight.
Since the Harrier is in active use by the Air Forces of the UK, US, Spain, Italy and India the Harrier of my remake will not be flying for the RAF. The player will be flying for a mercenary group for hire and will tackle a number of different targets in a number of different locations. I felt this would add a bit more variety to the game, and make it more fun – I have no intentions of taking the game as seriously as the original took itself!

Another thing that really makes Harrier Raid enjoyable for me is how it manages to stay interesting even after playing it multiple times. Many games feel repetitive after a while, but here, the experience still feels fresh because of the small details and different ways you can approach the gameplay. As you continue playing, you naturally start improving and understanding the mechanics better, which makes everything feel more rewarding. I also appreciate the balance the game maintains—it’s not too difficult, but it’s not too easy either. You can play it casually for a short break or spend longer sessions without getting bored. That flexibility is one of the biggest reasons why I keep coming back to Harrier Raid. Overall, it’s the kind of game that doesn’t just entertain you for a moment, but actually gives you a consistently enjoyable experience every time you play.
