You will also receive extra credit if your property values go up. Once every year, you will be taxed based on your property value. It may take awhile to recover if you don’t have enough credit.
The hotels are in order of cost from left to right. The higher the price of the hotel, the more the property will be worth. At times natural (and not so natural) acts of God will happen. You may lose properties if you are in the path of destruction. There are also times when a random lot will be chosen for a casino whereby the owner of the property gets millions of dollars for leasing the property.
Strategies are to place hotels at strategic locations so a park or golf course can’t be built next to the computers property. The game needs to be played slow and every move thought out to win. Lot and hotel prices are constantly changing so careful attention must be paid in order to find the best deals and properties. The game ends when you or the computer get 1 billion in wealth.
When Malls are being built, you will have the chance to invest. You will receive your dividends which could add up to millions, each year. you also may lose millions if the Mall goes broke or is destroyed.
You may start with a lower priced hotel and later sell the hotel(not the property) and build a more expensive hotel on the property. This works best when there are no good lots to buy or you have excess money to burn. Oh, by the way, in this version you must deal with the zoining board, and may borrow money from the bank and take a chance, good luck.
