There are a few different powerups that you can get while playing the game. These will drop from the top of the screen looking like atoms. You will either receive a shield, enabling you to get hit by a mac without dying, an extra life, or the macs will freeze. With this powerup, the macs will stop moving for about three seconds, allowing you to hit them more easily. Powerups are rare, however, so beware of the copyright blocks.
You will receive 50 points for every mac you kill and 25 points is for a non-destructive hit. For every level you pass, you will be awarded 100 points. An average score is around 2500 and an excellent score is 3500 or above. (Note: using insane mode will result in high scores being about 1/10 of what they’d usually be. You’ve been warned.)
