Match’em is an concentration style memory game. The game
is played on an 8 X 8 grid of raised buttons. Inside of
each button is a picture. The object of the game is to
select two buttons with like pictures (a match). But you
only get to uncover two (2) button a turn. To select a
button and display it’s picture, you put the mouse pointer
on the button you would like to display and click either
either button. When a match is found the pictures are re-
moved and the buttons are inverted (They cannot be used any
more in that game) and you get another turn. If two buttons
are selected and their pictures don’t match then the buttons
are replaced and the turn passes to your opponent. The game
ends when all of the buttons are uncovered and all of the
pictures are matched.
Points are awarded in the following manner. One (1) point
for each match and two (2) points for each additional con-
secutive match. For example:
One match = 1 point.
Two matches = 3 points (1 for the first match and 2 for
the second match).
Three matches = 5 points (1 for the first match, 2 for the
second match and 3 for the third match).

Another thing that really makes Match’em enjoyable for me is how it manages to stay interesting even after playing it multiple times. Many games feel repetitive after a while, but here, the experience still feels fresh because of the small details and different ways you can approach the gameplay. As you continue playing, you naturally start improving and understanding the mechanics better, which makes everything feel more rewarding. I also appreciate the balance the game maintains—it’s not too difficult, but it’s not too easy either. You can play it casually for a short break or spend longer sessions without getting bored. That flexibility is one of the biggest reasons why I keep coming back to Match’em. Overall, it’s the kind of game that doesn’t just entertain you for a moment, but actually gives you a consistently enjoyable experience every time you play.
